The impact of excellence

Truly exciting and ambitious health science ventures capitalize on existing strengths to transform research, spark breakthroughs, and generate broad and positive socio-economic benefits for the communities they serve.

Introducing the Ottawa Health Innovation Hub

The Ottawa Health Innovation Hub is a key strategic initiative of the National Capital Region’s health research community. Our mission: nurture a robust and innovative local health and life sciences ecosystem that supports research collaboration, the commercialization of discoveries and helps entrepreneurs to start and grow the next generation of high growth firms.

 Connected.

Its design features include fully accessible and collaborative R&D facilities, discovery and translational research floors, and on-site incubation and accelerator facilities.

The Hub through its programs and activities will connect researchers with healthcare challenges, ideas with innovators, discoveries with entrepreneurs and new companies with the business support of mentors, advisors, strategic partners, and venture capital firms.

Built to succeed.

The AMRC will expand our capacity for health research and clinical trials and accelerate innovation, commercialization and the spin-off of high growth companies.

We’ll have critical new infrastructure to meet urgent healthcare research and innovation needs.

Together the AMRC and the Hub will help future-proof Canada’s healthcare research capacity while at the same time contribute to Canada’s post-pandemic economic recovery.
